Getting Ready to Landscape

Spring is here and we couldn’t be more excited about the upcoming landscape season.  Kiefer Landscaping continues to grow by offering more services and serving more locations. We are excited to introduce our new DIY program for those of you who share our passion for landscaping and the beauty Mother Nature provides us. The start of a new season requires preparation to ensure your landscape will thrive all year.

Spring checklist for landscape

  • Sharpen and repair garden tools.
  • Remove old foliage and remove any debris.
  • Cut back ornamental grasses.
  • Remove diseased and weak branches.
  • Trim and shape evergreen shrubs and summer flowering shrubs.
  • Apply slow release fertilizer.
  • Re mulch landscape beds.
  • Set supports for floppy plants and vines.

Spring checklist for lawns

  • Tune up your mower and weed eater. (Sharpen your blades often throughout the year)
  • Schedule core aeration with Kiefer Landscaping.
  • Over seed any bare spots or schedule a slit seeding.
  • Sign up for the 6 step fertilizer program with Kiefer Landscaping.
  • Remove all debris from your lawn.
  • Never mow below 3 and 1/2 inches.
