Allan Block is a great way to enhance any hillside you wish to hold back and with their superior design why mess with anything else. Many residents in and around Pana have often asked what the differences are between concrete retaining walls and Allan Block retaining walls. Though there are not many differences Allan Block walls seem to be a lot more stable over time that a poured concrete. Even though poured concrete solid that is one of its down falls, with block walls there are openings within the middle of the block that allow it to be filled with a rock base (CA6), or a mortar, to form a bond between all pieces of the wall. A concrete wall, once dried, becomes one whole solid unit that over time will begin to deteriorate and crack as to where Allan Block walls are several small solid blocks working together to create one unit, diversifying the pressure of the land behind it.
